BLOOMING JOY -
The biggest lessons for life come from Nature. Nature is the mentor of life, living and rejuvenation. The expanse of human ego now is extending beyond what is basic and necessary for living. We define good living in terms of increasing quantities of resources we can consume irrespective of our needs. The result is in front of us. Depleting resources, polluted rivers, toxic air, holes in ozone, vanishing forests, diseased soil all are a pointer to a dark future for humanity. Can our greed for profit make us myopic and we will bequeath to future generations of earth a landscape of death and disease. All the environmental groups are fighting a losing battle to save our beautiful earth.
It is said all good things come free. You never pay for the fragrant air you breathe in as you walk in a forest. What can be more joyous than to watch flowers blooming in Spring. Madhu Jain the artist exhibiting in Studio Vasant New Delhi has spent considerable time learning Japanese painting style. She paints blooming flowers, swaying bamboos and Nature in general. She also has learnt the language which helped her to understand the cultural and artistic nuances better. She paints Nature as it offers vignette of the eternal joys. Samuel Taylor Coleridge is nearer the truth of Nature when he says—
So will I build my altar in the fields,
And the blue sky my fretted dome shall be,
And the sweet fragrance that the wild flower yields
Shall be the incense I will yield to Thee
Madhu Jain is in search of the spirit of Romantics through her Japanese art inspired oeuvre. A journey into joyous beauty!
